Lindsay Lohan won’t be seeing her probation end any time soon. The "Mean Girls" actress has been slapped with an extra year on her already existing three-year probation sentence in connection to her 2007 DUI case.
The 23-year-old troubled star was ordered to complete an alcohol awareness program after she pleaded no contest to drink driving in August 2007.
She was told to appear in court Friday after probation officials reported to the judge she missed several required alcohol and education classes.
Her attorney explained to the judge that it was just a miscommunication when she failed to notify the instructors of the alcohol education class that she would be returning to the class after she left the country for work.
Judge Marsha Revel said that in the future, Lohan must get court approval for any leave of absence of more than 21 days. The time off must also be work-related and not for vacation. If she fails to do so, her probation could lead to jail.
She also added a year to the actress’ probation so she could finish the program.
